Zalipie is known for a local custom of painting the cottages with decorative motives.

Dear Maria, Thank you for inviting me to your painted village. It is so beautiful. I love all of the painted flowers in and out of the buildings. The church is absolutely beautiful! My grandmother came from a little town called stalinpean. It is not on the map any more but it is about two miles from Russia in a place known as the Poilish coridor. How beautiful!!! What a lovely place! I have seen rosemaling in Norway, but never knew of Polish painting of cottages. You have taught me and shown me of such beauty. Thank you! I have stenciled all of my homes -- I love the freshness of color and vines and flowers indoors and out. I can't wait to show my girls this! They will be inspired as we redecorate our play cottage in the gardens. : D

Bylam do Polski juz 10 lat temu z moj kochany maz ale on umarl 6 lat temu, ale teraz Pan Bog mnie dal maz jeszcze raz. Wiem ze pisze (moze byc mowiem tak samo?) jak glupia ale nigdy bylam do sklola polska.
